DIRECTOR OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE
SENIOR MANAGEMENT OPPORTUNITY

Our new multi-million-dollar fitout introduces a new Eatery and Bar with modern décor and surroundings for brunch, dinner and al fresco style dining.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced hospitality leader to manage our bar, gaming, eatery and catering offerings, including setting the direction and managing the opening of our new Eatery and Bar.

The Director of Food and Beverage will be responsible for the profitable operation of the bar, the provision of an exciting and satisfying dining experience and to drive function sales.

A very competitive remuneration package is offered to the right candidate who can keep the Club relevant creating an exciting social space and modern-day fare for the new generation while taking care of our ever-growing customer base of 7000 plus members and visitors.

This role reports to the General Manager and will work closely with our Marketing & Comms Advisor and your direct reports: Bar Manager, Executive Chef, Functions Co-ordinator.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Sharp business acumen and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry with demonstrated success in growing revenue and profit.
  • Proven ability to inspire a team and build capability through leadership, coaching and constructive feedback to deliver the best possible customer experience.
  • An outgoing personality, comfortable designing, and publicly fronting club promotions to create a vibrant atmosphere for members and the successful delivery of promotions, events, and functions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to maintain mutually beneficial relationships with customers, suppliers, performers, agents, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong communication skills and a high standard of written communication producing meaningful performance reports for the GM.
  • The ability to create a sustainable and successful food and function operation, to be a drawcard to members and non-members alike.
  • Creative flair and a passion for the latest culinary trends to consistently thrill customers with amazing flavours, variety, service and value.
  • Ability to implement and utilise leading-edge systems, processes, and costing techniques to ensure profitable and efficient operations.
  • A thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety practices for hospitality, gaming venues and the safe operation of food service, demonstrating the highest standards.
  • Ability to engage with suppliers and stakeholders to achieve successful partnerships capable of delivering produce and services that enable price competitive and quality options for your chefs.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR

The Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club provides top class leisure facilities, entertainment and service in a secure and friendly environment to over 7,500 members and our visitors. Our vision is to be the leading community club in New Zealand through the provision of exceptional service, innovation and care.

The Role
Following a review of its operations the Club is seeking to appoint an inspiring Marketing and Communications Advisor to provide effective PR, marketing and graphic design for the Club.

Reporting to the General Manager, this 20-30 hour role is an exciting opportunity, for a strong influencer and communicator to take a leading role in the promotion of one of the country’s top clubs, setting the tone and approach of its messaging in an effective PR Plan and successfully engaging with audiences through printed, digital and social platforms.

The Marketing and Communications Advisor will promote the Club’s activities and events to its members, potential members and staff to compelling internal and external communications such as newsletters, posters, display tv imagery, together with website and social media management.

The role will also involves assisting with the management and delivery of key Club events.

The successful candidate will have:

  • experience in PR, marketing, brand building and designing promotional campaigns.
  • experience delivering effective external and internal communications through a variety of channels, including social media and website content.
  • strong and creative writing skills, including the ability to produce reports and copy for advertising, promotions and media releases.
  • excellent verbal communication skills.
  • experience in producing professional presentations.
  • graphic design flare and ability to use Adobe Creative Suite apps to produce professional images, documents and posters.
  • excellent relationship marketing skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • ability to work to meet tight deadlines.
