The annual Wine Extravaganza on Sunday, August 17 from 2pm will feature 15 leading wineries, Fontera Cheeses, Nyco Chocolates, Prenzel tasting plus top class band Rosa. Tickets $5 includes a complimentary branded glass, plus four hours of delicious wines, cheeses and entertainment.
THE VIARD BARBER QUARTET webJPG.JPG A wide variety of acts covering all music spectrums have been brought together for a magic afternoon’s entertainment. Heading a top class lineup will the 2008 New Zealand Country Junior Entertainer of the Year Tiana Miti who recently won the NZ Samoan Idol and will contest the world final in September. She will perform solo and also with her talented family of brother Sonny Junior, and sisters Justina and Bridgette. The Pacific Flavour Barber Shop Quartet won the 2008 Wellington Regional Competition and recently performed in the USA. Winners of many Country Music Awards Jim and Margaret Pohe and Gail Russell and her partner Paeto Losefo will also entertain along with Paul Sinclair who won the over 40 years section at the 2008 Gold Guitar awards. Jonny and the Dreamboats web.jpg Jonny and the Dreamboats consists of Teresa Bergman on vocals, Sam Price on bass guitar, Shane Robertson on guitar, and Jonny Wilson on the drums. Jonny, Shane and Sam all met at the New Zealand school of music and completed their Bachelor of music degrees together. Teresa is a familiar face to many New Zealanders. In 2005 she reached the final five on NZ Idol with the three judges - Frankie Stevens, Jackie Clark and Paul Ellis - congratulating her on her vocal range, clarity of tone and performance skills. Stevens believed that she has the drive and the ability to succeed not only in New Zealand but internationally as well, such is the quality of her voice and talent. Their music includes covers by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Britney Spears, Queen, Van Morrison, Elton John, Split Enz, Abba, Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
